1st Annual RPYB Gear Swap
Saturday, February 13th
10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Ciavarella Field
It's time to gather up all that baseball gear your kids have outgrown and donate it to the RPYB Gear Swap! Here's how it works: you get all the way-too-small stuff out of your closets, it gets recycled and used by younger players, and you have the chance to get gently-used gear in your player's current size--for free.
Donations can be dropped off at the Powell house (5322 Shepard Ave, behind Caleb Greenwood School or bring them to Ciavarella Field the day of the swap .Cleats, mitts, bats, batting gloves, gear bags, baseball pants (even with grass stains--they make great practice pants), shirts, belts, and socks are all welcome.
2010 Spring Season Try-Outs Are Over
After a wet start the first weekend, the sun came out for the second weekend. Thanks to all the parents and players we had a great turn out. With that being said and the coaches feeling like they got a good look at the players, we're canceling the third day of try-outs. The teams will be picked the first week of February and calls from the coaches should follow the next week.
Huge Thanks!!!!
Huge thanks to the following parents, friends, board members, coaches, and even a handful of players who came out to help get Ciavarella Field ready for 2010:
Jim Ghilardi, Bryon and Mikko Lopez, Matt Rolston, Gary Wilson, Russell Swanigan, Bill Chally, Chip Powell, Shane and Jen Spence, John Herrera, Mark Moreno, Tom Monette, Joe Johnston, Eric Cameron, Tim, Leda, and Junior Mendonca, Walter and Vincent Rozewski, Chris and Eric Huitt, Gary Hook, Seth Hall, Jamy Habeger, Steve Flocchini, Tom Griffin, Bob and Elizabeth Schultz, Mike Palaia, Andrew Blunk, Darcy and Gary Austin, Bill Evrigenis, Pat Murphy, Jeremy Arrich, Kyle Harrington, and Terry DeBencik.
The turnout was very good: 31 people on Saturday and 15 on Sunday. There is still work to be done, but all agreed the field has never looked this good this early in the year. Thanks for all your hard work folks!
